$25

I don’t eat out very often, when I do, I usually try to eat at places that are “affordable.”  It is interesting to consider how much it costs to eat out.  I can easily spend twenty-five bucks on a nice dinner before including an appetizer or dessert.

Canadians have the luxury of indulging in amazing foods from around the world.  The irony is that in many parts of the world, there is no such luxury nor the availability of food.  COVID-19 has impacted various parts of the world in different ways.  In India, it has shuttered businesses and left millions of people without daily wages or the ability to feed their families.

FREEDOM 25

Our partner in India usually focuses on training and equipping pastors and church planters.  Lately, these teams have had to refocus on relief work.  One team member in India ran a business with all of the proceeds directed toward the care and development of people who have been rescued from human trafficking.  The business was shut down due to the pandemic, but hundreds of women and children still needed food.

Children, families, and individuals have found themselves in desperate times and they have been finding support, hope, and encouragement through our partners.  Over the past several months, food security has already been provided for over 6000 families with a total of 1.8 million meals.  One team member, in India, even sold his car to buy food for those who were in need.

Outreach Canada is helping.  We have already provided some financial assistance to our Indian partners, but we would like to invite you to help us do more, by joining our collaborative FREEDOM 25 project.

What can $25 buy?

Consider the purchasing power of $25 dollars here in Canada.

  • A movie at the theater with popcorn and pop.
  • 4 or 5 large specialty coffees.
  • Bob Woodward’s new book, Rage
  • Game of Thrones season 8 on DVD
  • 5 family packs of Oreo cookies
  • 2 months of Netflix
  • Dinner for two at McDonalds

Freedom 25

Today in India, $25 will feed a family of five people for a full week!  Our team is providing simple but nutritious food supplies to families in need.  With your gift of $25 you can provide meals for a whole family for the week or for $100 you can provide for that family for a month.  We have good people on the ground who look after distribution to families or providing cooked meals for individuals, but without our help, they will run out of funds and food very soon.

Over the next few weeks, Outreach Canada is inviting you to help us care for some of the desperate victims of the COVID pandemic.  As we enter the holiday season, we will spend frivolously on gifts for family and friends or on our own pleasure.  Will you join us buy giving the gift of life sustaining food for an Indian family?

“Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” – Jesus (Matthew 25:40)

Please give today:

  • $25 will feed a family of five for a week
  • $50 will feed a family of five for two weeks.
  • $100 will feed a family for a month.
